Couple turns wedding vows into rap battle
Musicians Aaron and Rebel Sawyer decided to make their wedding vows anything but traditional. They turned the exchange into an impromptu rap battle, leaving their guests shocked and amused.
The video starts with the couple standing hand-in-hand at the altar, preparing to share their vows. Rebel, dressed in a white gown, faces Aaron, who is dressed casually in an unbuttoned white shirt and baggy pants. The moment takes a turn as Rebel asks, “Aaron Sawyer, do you want something real?” As the music begins, the couple takes hold of microphones and begins to rap their vows.
Rebel begins, rapping about their deep connection and how Aaron “elevates” her spirit. “Praying with your hands in mine, our hearts become aligned. Your Taurus love opens my eyes, I am goddess by your side,” her lyrics say.
Aaron follows with psychedelic references like “psilocybin” to describe their love. He raps about their connection, calling it “golden,” and says, “Gave you my heart in the lotus, the Leo queen of the solstice.”
Rebel later shared the rap on Facebook, captioning it, “When you are soulmates and collaborators, even your wedding vows turn into a lyrical masterpiece. This is part two of the love we spit on our big day.”
