‘Cheetozard’: Viral Pokémon-shaped Cheeto fetches nearly Rs 77 lakh at auction

A single Flamin’ Hot Cheeto, shaped like the iconic Pokémon Charizard, was sold for approximately $88,000 (Rs 77 lakh, approximately) at an auction. The snack, now dubbed “Cheetozard,” has captured the attention of collectors and Pokémon enthusiasts worldwide, according to the online marketplace Goldin.
According to the auction site’s bid history, the Pokémon Charizard Cheeto attracted 60 bids, starting at $250 (nearly Rs 22,000) in February. The 3-inch-long collectible is officially described by the New York-based marketplace as mounted on a custom Pokémon card and encased in a clear card storage box.
The extraordinary “Cheetozard” was featured in Goldin’s 2025 February Pop Culture Elite Auction. On March 2, the collectible received a winning bid of $72,000 (Rs 63 lakh, approximately), ultimately driving the final price of the Cheeto to an eye-popping $87,840, the PEOPLE Magazine reported.
Sharing the details, the official Instagram handle of Goldin wrote, “CHEETOZARD FINAL SALE! Final Sale Price on the “Cheetozard” – Pokemon Charizard-Shaped Cheeto – 3″: $87,840. Email us at Sell@goldin.com to consign your Collectibles to one of our upcoming Elite or Weekly Auctions!”

Although the Pokémon-shaped snack gained attention this month, it was originally discovered and preserved between 2018 and 2022 by 1st & Goal Collectables. Its popularity skyrocketed on social media in late 2024, leading to widespread recognition.
In April 2024, 1st & Goal Collectables, a store based in Holly Springs, Georgia, shared an Instagram post confirming that the Cheetozard was “well and alive.” The store revealed, “Cheetozard continues! We’ve had the Cheetozard for about 5 years now and we totally forgot we had it until cleaning out the safe! Loads of offers have come in. If interested pm us. New post with new home/label posted.”

The video prompted a sea of reactions, with one saying, “Ok I don’t get it because I would have eaten it…what should I be looking for when I eat Cheetos?” Another user commented, “A prosperous long life, this one has had!”
“I want to eat it and watch society crumble,” a third user said.
