Australian man puts on ‘brown noise’ to fall asleep after living in India, netizens react: ‘Did you sleep in the streets of Mumbai?’

With bustling streets filled with constant honking, the blare of busy traffic, and street vendors calling out to attract customers, noise pollution in Indian cities is a growing concern. For Indians who moved out of the country, the feeling is personal and often linked to nostalgia. However, for foreigners, the incessant noise might be challenging to acclimate to.

An Australian creator, Andy Evans, shared a hilarious take on his newfound addiction to “brown noise” after spending some time in India. The viral footage shows Andy asking a woman if he could play the “brown noise” before drifting off to sleep, as it helps him relax. As the video progresses, instead of calming sounds, it plays honking horns and the screeching voices of street vendors.

Sharing the video, Evans wrote, “When white noise doesn’t help me sleep, I turn on brown noise instead.”

With a million views, the video ignited hilarious reactions from social media users. “Bro came to India and lived under a flyover,” singer Arjun Kanungo reacted. Ali Fazal chimed in with laughing emojis.

“Bro did you sleep in the streets of Mumbai ?” a user wrote. “My mom still asks me how do you sleep with the outside noise but not with the inside. It’s relatable,” another user commented.
