India’s billionaires have amassed a collective wealth of approximately US$ 1 trillion, which accounts for a remarkable 7% of the total global wealth.
Notably, in 2023 alone, India added 94 new billionaires to its ranks, the second-highest increase globally after the United States.
The richest Indian city, Mumbai, now boasts a total of 386 billionaires, with 58 new individuals joining the ranks this year alone. The city’s wealth is surging by an impressive 47 percent over the past year, contrasting sharply with Beijing’s 28 percent decline.
Following Mumbai, New Delhi and Hyderabad have emerged as other key cities for India’s ultra-wealthy.
Delhi, with the addition of 18 new billionaires, now has a total of 217 entries on the list, making it the second city with the most billionaires in India.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad has made significant progress, surpassing Bengaluru for the first time and taking over third rank in terms of wealthy residents.
The addition of 17 new billionaires has brought Hyderabad’s total to 104, while Bengaluru follows in fourth place with 100 affluent individuals.
In terms of state distribution, Maharashtra leads with 470 entries, while Delhi has 213 and Gujarat ranks third with 129 entries.
