Boy from ‘Success memes’ achieves success, raises $75,000 for father’s treatment

Sam Griner, kid known for “success memes”, helped in raising funds for his father’s kidney replacement. His parents, Justin and Laney Griner launched a new page in GoFundMe – a crowd sourcing website, to raise the required $75,000.

As reported by ABC News, the site was created to help find a living donor and raise money toward the costs of Justin’s transplant. Even though Medicare already covered 80 per cent of Justin’s post-surgery costs, the family required more to pay high medicine expenses. However, with love and support of over four thousand donors, the website was able to raise more than $93, 000 in seven days.

Now 8-year-old, Sam Griner has been famous on internet since 2007 after his mother posted his 11-month-old picture on Flickr and Getty. The picture went viral for success memes and still circulates on social media.
