Perhaps inspired by films and over-dozed on the Shah Rukh Khan brand of romance, a man based out of Visakhapatnam reportedly gate-crashed his lover’s engagement ceremony, lifted and kissed her, and it all ended happily (we’re not sure about the every after yet). This fantastic incident was reported by Mumbai Mirror, and has become a talking point on social media platforms.
While we agree that people in love tend to go to baffling extents to be with each other, this incident does sound clichéd and unbelievable at the same time. Many have compared it with a scene straight out of R Madhavan’s Rehna Hai Tere Dil Main in which Maddy enters Dia Mirza’s wedding arranged with Saif Ali Khan but wins her over with his words and ends up marrying her. To be fair, even Maddy didn’t lift and kiss her!
The boy is reportedly from Bakkannapalem village on the outskirts of Hyderabad. He entered the engagement venue on December 10 to sweep his lover off her feet. Understandably, the act angered the groom and his family, who immediately left after witnessing the movie-like scene. The family of the girl was initially against the union for reasons not reported, but after what happened at the engagement, they are reported to have given their blessing to the alliance.
According to Mumbai Mirror, the girl has two siblings, a younger sister and a brother. Her father is an employee with a private firm. Reportedly, the guy is from an affluent family and declared his love for the girl in front of the parents following which the parents agreed and extended formal invitation to the boy’s family.
indianexpress.com cannot independently verify the incident but well, love conquers all, and everyone loves a good love story!
