Just hours before voting begins in the US, Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has etched a lead over Republican Donald Trump. But the result is far from certain as swing states and vote barters are still in play. But such practicalities have not stopped the all-knowing clairvoyants to predict the future US President.
Many would remember Chennai-resident Chanakya the fish from the time it had predicted the results of the 2015 cricket World Cup semi-finals correctly and declared New Zealand winners before the match, creating a lot of buzz in the social media space. It later went on to predict India’s fate in the semi-final match with Australia too. Well, while the world waits with bated breath to see who will win the US presidential elections this year, the flowerhead cichlid fish has already declared a winner – and it’s Donald Trump!
The fish, which apparently sits in a tank at the Indian Community Welfare Organisation NGO office in Chennai, was given two floating feed sticks each with photos of Clinton and Trump. The fish swam towards the stick that had Trump’s photo on it, according to ANI.
But some people have interpreted this selection in a different way. One Twitter user suggested that it’s not that Chanakya chose Trump, but that he wanted to “eat” the Republican candidate, indicating his result in the elections. He tweeted: “but in the second picture the fish is trying to eat Trump that can also be understood as Trump if finished”.

Chanakya rose to fame after Paul, the octopus, had accurately predicted the results of many matches during the 2010 Fifa World Cup.
