A vibrating bag in a Vienna music hall prompted a call to the bomb squad, only for it to turn out to be a sex toy.
Cloakroom staff at the iconic Wiener Konzerthaus concert hall noticed a suitcase “shaking suspiciously” due to which they alerted the police and a bomb squad was dispatched to inspect it.
According to Austrian website GDM, an explosives expert was rushed to the venue, whose main hall can hold upto 1900 people. However, on inspection, it turned out to be a vibrating sex toy in the bag.
According to the Austrian daily Kurier, the audience that was watching a concert wasn’t disturbed by the presence of the emergency services, and the performance continued uninterrupted.
Police spokesman Patrick Maierhofer said, “The bag had fallen on its side. Officers were able to quickly identify the cause of vibration and therefore it was not necessary to disturb the performance and the show went on.”
According to Local, the bag was returned to a man and his female companion who had deposited the bag.
