After Deepika Padukone, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina shoot video on women’s rights

Days after the Vogue India campaign featuring Deepika Padukone generated a heated debate on women’s rights, Men in Blue from the Indian cricket team like Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu along with Team Director Ravi Shastri came forward in solidarity for women by shooting a video called “Respecttoprotect” on the request of a Hyderabad-based NGO, My choices.

The video was shot as an initiative representing the male voices of our society and their pledge to protect their women and their modesty before everything else.

The video begins by presenting hard-hitting facts about atrocities inflicted daily on women. It shows Kohli talking about guarding the choices available to women in terms of their clothing, their professional commitments, their independence and supporting them nevertheless. Ambati Rayudu also raised an emphatic point of ‘governing her pursuits and respecting her opportunity.’
