Colarado athourities took a 12-year-old under custody for attempting to kill her mother after she tried to confiscate her iPhone.
The girl poisoned her mother’s drinks with bleach twice before the mother realized and contacted The Boulder County sheriff’s office.
The sherrif’s office told ABC news that the girl first tried to spike her mother’s breakfast smoothie on March 2, when the mother smelled bleach but just assumed that her daughter forgot to wash the glass properly.
It was when she again smelt it a few days later that she confronted her pre-teen daughter, who allegedly told her that she wanted to kill her because she took away her iPhone, according to Sherrif’s office.
The woman was admitted at the Boulder Community Hospital from where alerted the authorities. She is no longer in hospital and her condition is said to be fine.
The girl was detained at the Boulder County Juvenile Centre on two counts of attempted first-degree murder on Friday.
“She had pre-planned this a couple different times,” Sergeant Bill Crist told ABC News.
An investigation is on-going and the District Attorney’s office will decide what charges to pursue.
