Sony Mobile Communications on Monday introduced the new Xperia ZR,which allows users to capture photos and full HD videos up to 1.5 metres (5 feet).
The device runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean mobile operating system with Sony’s custom user interface. It has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 8GB of internal storage expandable to 32GB. Connectivity will include 4G LTE,NFC and DLNA compatibility.
The Xperia ZR can be kept submerged in 1.5 metres of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. Combined with its dedicated camera key,the waterproof capabilities allow videos to be shot in full HD or taking pictures underwater.
This smartphone offers technology and content with a 4.6″ HD Reality display,13 megapixel fast capture camera.
Sony is yet to announce the pricing of the Xperia ZR,which will be launched in various global markets from the second quarter of 2013.
The handset also includes a Sony Walkman album and movie apps and an OptiContrast OLED screen with Bravia tech to reduce glare.
