Launchpad: Lenovo launches Thinkpad Twist

Wishtel Ira Capsule,Asus Nexus 7,Motorheadphones Bomber are the other launches of the week.

Lenovo ThinkPad Twist

Lenovo recently launched ThinkPad Twist,a hybrid device that can be used as a laptop or a tablet. The Twist runs Windows 8 and has a 12.5-inch touchscreen IPS display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. The Twist comes with third-generation Intel processors,up to 8 GB RAM and 500 GB storage. It also has a mini-HDMI port,a 2-MP webcam,and weighs 1.6 kg. Lenovo says the battery life is seven hours.

It is priced at Rs 71,000.

Wishtel Ira Capsule

Wishtel’s Ira Capsule is the latest to join the list of convertibles available in the market. Ira Capsule is powered by 1.6Ghz processor,1GB RAM,16GB storage (expandable up to 32GB),5-megapixel front camera and has 3G support. The 10-inch Android Jelly Bean device has a screen resolution of 1024*768 pixels and WishTel says its 8000mAh battery offers a browsing time of about five hours.

It costs Rs 16,000.

Asus Nexus 7

Asus Nexus 7 tablet is powered by 1.2GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. It runs Android Jelly Bean. Users get ample internal memory at 32GB (non-expandable) with the 7-inch (1280*800 pixels) tablet. Asus says Nexus 7’s 4-plus-1 design gives processing power when required and improves battery efficiency. Moreover,Asus says it delivers 9 hours of HD video playback,10 hours of web browsing or e-reading,and up to 300 hours of standby time. The tablet lacks a rear-camera but has 1.2-megapixel front camera. The WiFi-only version is priced Rs 18,999.

It is worth Rs 21,999.

Motorheadphones Bomber

Developed in collaboration by Krusell International and the legendary rock band Motorhead,this range of headphones are targeted at rock music fans. These are popular in Europe and have recently arrived in India. The Motorheadphones Bomber is designed for music with a heavy combination of guitars,drums and rumbling bass. With Bomber you get Controlizer,a smartphone-ready microphone/controller which can adjust the volume,pause,play,take calls,etc. Other headphones launched were Ironfist (Rs 7,499),Motorizer (Rs 8,299) and Overkill (Rs 3,899).

It is priced at Rs 6,399.
