Autodesk University Extension comes to India,provides new platform for design community

3D design software company Autodesk Inc is bringing its famed AutodeskUniversity Extension (AUx) to India with the inaugural edition being held in Mumbai on December 19. AUx is a part of the annual Autodesk University (AU) conference,the world’s largest learning and networking event for Autodesk product users,and held every year in in Las Vegas.

In India,the daylong event will showcase technologies of the future from the Autodesk portfolio and also demonstrate novel applications of design technology by leading design and engineering professionals,animators,visual artists,architects and filmmakers. “The event will give users a good idea about what is happening globally. The some of our top clients will showcase what they they are doing and how they are solving design problems,” Pradeep Nair,MD India and SAARC.

Nair said the event will be a good platform for interactions and networking for people in the design community in India. “Part of our initiative is to build the design community in India. After all,design is becoming a crucial part of our lives,” he added.

The first Autodesk University was organised in the US over 20 years ago and has now expanded to include numerous events that are being held all around the world. AUx Mumbai is the latest addition to the list of global cities that host AUx every year. The others include Dubai,Johannesburg,Jakarta and Mexico City. The one day event in Mumbai would see participation from thought leaders and innovators from the Architecture,Engineering and Construction,Media and Entertainment and Manufacturing industries.

Design and engineering professionals will get the opportunity to upgrade and validate their skills by obtaining Autodesk Certifications at the event. Certifications will be provided free of cost for the latest versions of Autodesk software like AutoCAD 2014 Certified Professional,Revit Architecture 2014 Certified Professional,Inventor 2014 Certified Professional,Civil 3D 2014 Certified Professional,3Ds Max 2014 Certified Professional,Maya 2014 Certified Professional.

Highlights of AUx Mumbai include,Patrick Williams,Senior Vice President,Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets,Autodesk who will give a keynote on the “New Era of Design”,Keitan Yadav and Haresh Hingorani from Red Chillies VFX who will make presentations on the making of Krrish 3 and Anil Saini,Director,General Motors India’s Design Studio.
