Is your wallet crammed with bills and notes of your expenses? Have you lost the diary where you have noted the monthly budget? Fret not, there is an app that can take care of that tedious job for you, Wally + (beta).
Wally is a personal finance management app that allows users to add expenses and income on the go. The app is available for Android and iOS.
The concept of this app is a clean-shot on the billion dollar smartphone industry, but Wally is unfortunately unable to deliver the required functionalities. The app has a decent UI and some quick functions, but not all the options can be easily used.
Firstly, the app is a quite confusing to navigate. It takes some time to understand the math behind entries. The calendar like widget on the top-right corner on the dashboard is deceptive and doesn’t pop-out to switch between the dates. Even when a new expenditure entry is made, the dates punched in doesn’t necessarily allow you to navigate between dates or months. Also, if some expenditure entries are added to your list, you can’t navigate back to add new entries. It only allows you to edit an already updated entry.
Secondly, there are lot of bugs to be fixed. Though it is a beta version, the bugs are way too annoying because of the unexpected and abrupt crashes. If you try to move quickly between the tabs and entries, the app crashes. Also there are some unexplored pockets in the app. I mean, they are actually disabled in the beta version.
Thirdly, the app has limited use offline. You need a data connection to add accounts or ‘some’ entries.
Wally’s privacy policy states that user data is completely secured and protected. It promises that the data is only to understand ‘your preferences and behaviors by leveraging machine learning, artificial intelligence, and algorithms’. Very complex for the average user.
BUT, save your heart, the app has got some good stuff like ‘saving targets’ slider, tagging people in the entries and ‘smart notifications’. It comes with all top currency values. For a free app in its nascent stages of development, the app is worth a try. But wait for the real deal.
