Sennheiser, Sennheiser in ear earphones, Sennheiser MOMENTUM In-Ear i Black review The audio quality is really good, but the quirk with the design is a bit hard to live with.

I still think the Sennheiser Momentum over-the-ear models are among the best headphones available in the market. Since the first version came along, Sennheiser has brought out at least two new versions with an on-ear and, more recently, in-ear models. I started my review of the in-ear model with a lot of expectation. Here is what happened.

MOMENTUM In-Ear i Black

The new Momentum models are indeed stylish and look very modern. The box says are they made to go with the Samsung Galaxy series, but this one works with all Android phones. You might need to check the model before you pick up one for an iPhone. That is a slightly different model.

Price: Rs 6,990

What’s different?

The in-ear model comes with a remote that lets you take and make calls. The same remote also lets you switch songs and adjust volume. It also houses the microphone and is hence on the left ear chord, a bit too close to your face to adjust quickly. I tested it on multiple Android devices and faced no issues. The call quality on both sides was good.

How good is the audio?

The audio quality is as good as you would expect it to be from Sennheiser. In fact, this pair of earphones give a sense of depth more akin to over-the-ear headphones and I really enjoyed it. You will feel this when you are watching a movie or listening to a multi-track audio file. It is a bit high on bass, but not to the extent of making the experience flat.

Is anything wrong?

It is very strange, but I had trouble keeping the earbuds where they should be, in my ears. For earphones that are meant to be used with a mobile device and by that logic when you are on the move, the Sennheiser in-ear has a problem. I tried both the ear plugs that come in the box, but both of them struggled to stay in place. Using the earphones during a morning walk my entire concentration was on keeping the earphone in place and not listening to the songs. I have other in-ear headphones with similar earbuds and I can assure you there is nothing wrong with the size of my ears.

To buy or not to buy?

Buy this if you want to use this in car or while you are in home or office. If you are looking for a earphone to go with an active lifestyle, look for other options and there are a lot of them out there. The audio quality is really good, but the quirk with the design is a bit hard to live with.
