The MobileLite Wireless G2 is the second generation wireless flash reader from Kingston. The device has evolved as an all-rounder and not just a wireless flash reader. Kingston MobileLite Wireless G2 is a ‘jack of all trades’ accessory and seems to offer a profitable deal to buyers who are looking to upgrade to wireless storage.

With most smartphones, tablets and PCs hosting limited storage capabilities, it is needless to mention that wireless external storage is going mainstream. Should you consider the Kingston MobileLite Wireless G2? Here is the review.

This device is power bank, having a built-in Li-ion 4,640 mAh 3.8v battery, a WiFi router and hotspot and a wireless flash reader. It works along with Kingston MobileLite app which is available for free on Google Play and iOS.

The device comes with a USB port, SD card slot and an Ethernet port. As a wireless flash reader, you can connect a flash drive and a SD card (or microSD card via adapter) simultaneous to access content wirelessly on your smartphone or tablet via Kingston MobileLite app. Note that data (WiFi or mobile Internet) is not consumed.

Price: Rs 2,845 (

What is good?

Every wireless storage device connects via WiFi. So, for most devices, while it is connected to a tablet or smartphone, users cannot connect to the Internet on that device. But the Kingston MobileLite Wireless G2 can. The device can be bridged with the home WiFi connection and you can surf the Internet while you are still connected to your external flash drive.

The best deal of the device is that the user can also connect their dongle to the USB port and convert it into a WiFi hotspot. This ensures that this wireless flash reader doesn’t interfere with your online life ever. The Ethernet port comes in handy when you want to go wireless. Just plug in the Cat5 cable and connect automatically.

It can also act as an emergency power bank.

Kingston MobileLite Wireless G2 is multipurpose device which solves all your problems related to wireless storage and Internet connectivity.

What is not that good?

Kingston should provide more instructions and product details to consumers. Else, the buyers would be just stranded at thinking it to be another wireless flash reader. I would have preferred a bigger battery for the device.

For the price of around Rs 3,000, Kingston is offering a great deal. The MobileLite Wireless G2 is the best option while graduating to wireless storage, especially for the fact that there is no storage limit.
