Reliance Jio’s 4G services will launch in the coming months for sure, and currently there are preview offers running where users can starting experiencing the service. Now Reliance has introduced a new offer for HP India customers where they can buy a JioFi 2 hotspot device and get access to the comapny’s 4G Internet services.
According to a report on TelecomTalk, HP India customers will need an email from HP giving them preview to the Jio 4G service. Then they have to take the letter to the Reliance Digital or Digital Mini Xpress store, where they can buy the JioFi 2 device at Rs 2,899. Once again like with the Lyf and Samsung smartphones users will need to take their documents such as address proof, identity proof along. After these are verified, the service should start working.
The JioFi 2 offer, which is a hotspot device, with HP laptops will also give customers unlimited data, calls and SMS for 90 days. Users will need to log into the MyJio app to use HD voice and video calling via this JioFi 2 device.
Just like when you buy a Lyf or Samsung smartphone with the Jio SIM, users have to get this service tele-verified in order to activate the features. The helpline number is 1977, and usually activation takes place within 24 hours of the call being placed. Also keep your identity details close by when you are making the tele-verification call; these will be required by the customer care executive.
Other ways to get a Reliance Jio SIM include:
Reliance Jio SIM preview for Lyf customers: Customers who buy a Reliance Lyf brand smartphone will get the SIM card free. The SIM gives 3 months of free internet, voice-calling, etc. Lyf smartphones such as Flame 6, etc are starting at Rs 2,999, and these have the WiFi hotspot feature on them as well. If your primary use is to get access to free data, then the Lyf phones are quite a good option. The speeds we’ve been seeing in the Jio network are between 20-30 mbps average, so at least your data problems should be solved for the next three months.

Samsung smartphones: If you have a high-end Samsung smartphone such as the Galaxy S7, S6, Note 5, Note 4, Galaxy A (2016, 2015) series, then you can download the MyJio app and generate the Jio Preview offer. Again like with HP Laptops, you’ll need to go to a Digital Xpress Mini or Reliance Digital Store, to get the SIM. And yes you’ll have to carry your KYC documents as well.
Interestingly some users are also reporting they can run the Jio SIM on other phones where the offer hasn’t been extended. In our case, one Jio SIM (not the one we got with the Lyf phone) worked just fine with an iPhone 6s with the LTE services running smoothly.
