Apple supercharges new MacBook Pros with M3 processors: Price starts at Rs 169,900

The 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro comes in three variants, featuring either the M3, M3 Pro, or the M3 Max chip. Similarly, the bigger 16-inch MacBook Pro is available with either M3 Pro or M3 Max chip. Thanks to the new GPU architecture, these MacBook Pros now support real-time ray-tracing, and Apple claims that these MacBooks, running on macOS Sonoma are optimised for gaming, and can handle even new AAA titles like Baldur’s Gate 3. Despite the performance uplift, these MacBook Pros still offer industry-leading battery life of up to 22 hours.

These new MacBook Pros can support up to 128 GB of unified memory (M3 Max variants) and include a bright 2K resolution display with up to 1600 nits of peak brightness for HDR content and a notch that encompasses a 1080p web camera. A new feature called “Dynamic Caching” further improves the GPU utilisation on these machines by allocating hardware memory in real-time and these Macs are said to be 7.4 times faster than Intel Core i7-based MacBook Pros and 60 per cent faster than 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro.

The new MacBook Pros will be available for pre-order starting October 31 and will be available for purchase starting November 7 with a starting price of Rs 169,900 for the 14-inch M3 MacBook Pro and the M3 Pro 14-inch MacBook Pro costs Rs 199,900. Similarly, the base variant of the 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro is priced at Rs 249,900.
