Diwali is undoubtedly the most celebrated festival in India. With families getting together, shopping, eating, praying and making merry, it is a festival that everyone looks forward to.

But with the surge in nuclear families and generational shifts, Diwali is losing its relevance in all the major metros. However, it is still very much relevant and revered in the small-town localities pan India.

In these small-town Mohallas, Diwali opens many avenues for characters of all kinds. The uncle leaves no stone unturned to ensure his house looks the brightest, the aunty who churns out lip smacking delicacies to impress her peers, the society stud trying to woo the girl he likes and the prankster kid who bursts crackers to annoy his neighbors. These characters make the spirit of Diwali even more endearing.
