Uber just launched its pilot bikesharing service called uberMOTO on ‘Car-Free Tuesday’ in Gurgaon. Users can request for a ride through the Uber app between 7:30 am and 9:30 pm.
Once, a user enters pick-up location in the app, uberMOTO matches them with the nearest motorbike or scooter to pick them up. It also shows the details of the vehicle and driver. The uberMOTO driver provides a helmet, which users need to wear before they take the ride. uberMOTO can be paid through one of the Uber payment options, including cash.
Uber provides GPS tracking, 2-way feedback and the ability to share trip details with others with uberMOTO too. The fares start at Rs 15. The service then charges Rs 3 per kilometer and Rs 1 per minute for a ride.
