In an attempt to attract people who visit twitter.com, but do not log in, Twitter has revamped its homepage. The new homepage will have real-time content categorised into topics around interest areas like politics, pop artists, etc.
On clicking the topics, visitors will find a timeline of Tweets from popular accounts in that interest area. The new homepage will be available on desktops starting with US Twitter users first.

For Twitter the point of this new homepage is to give ‘logged-out’ users a sense of what is going on in Twitter. In October 2014, Twitter had seen its user engagement drop and this homepage is a part of tackling this issue.
Twitter is hoping that users who haven’t signed up will see some information that could give them an interest into signing. For the social media site, it’s a good use of the blank homepage that could eventually boost its user growth and engagement.
