At Apple’s Event, Tim Cook and company had planned a surprise even before the event started. Apple’s CEO started with updates and threw a bunch of surprise out of nowhere.
Tim Cook then introduced Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto to announce Super Mario Run For iOS. It is a running app with graphics similar to the New Super Mario Bros. The app will be free to downloaded and feature a one-time in app purchase option.
Now, Nintendo has confirmed Kotaku that it intends to release the app for Android devices at some point in the future. Mario is a gaming franchise highly known for its basic gaming app. The app on iOS allows users to run and on the way, collect coins and dodge enemies. Mario has evolved and continues to evolve and now it is landing on smartphones.
Super Mario Run is a brand new game and anyone can play instantly. The game is simple, easy to use and the focus is on one-handed gameplay. Mario jumps by tapping anywhere on the screen. The longer you tap, higher the Mario jumps. The goal is as simple as collecting as many coins as possible and reaaching the pole before time runs out.
Nintendo has also added multiplayer game support called Toad Rally. With Toad Rally, Super Mario Run lets gamers choose their friend and gamers around the world. Toad Really is all about collecting and gathering toads in the course.
Super Mario Run will release first on iOS first in time for holidays and reach out to Android users sometime in the future.
