Snapchat has added two new features to the app including – Friendship profiles and Bitmoji Stories. Snapchat has already started rolling out both these new features globally in phases. The company states that all of its users will be able to use the new features over the coming weeks.
Friendship Profiles feature, will curate saved content that the users have saved during chats with their friends. Under this users will be able to see all the saved images, videos, messages, links and more.
Friendship Profiles will also showcase a user’s Snap Map location. To access Friendship Profile of a user, one will have to tap on the user’s Bitmoji from the friend’s section, which will then take them to the desired Friendship Profile page.
The second feature added by Snapchat are Bitmoji Stories, which allow users to make their own Bitmoji comic strip and post it to their story. The company will be adding new comic strips every week, which will be made available to users in their Discover feed. Currently, this new Bitmoji Stories feature will be only available in English.
Snap Inc recently announced that it will be releasing a number of original series for its users to consume. With this Snap Inc is aiming to increase users time spent on the app and thus selling advertisements to various companies looking for such audiences.
The original series that are being rolled out on the app includes a documentary on social-media influencers in California and a show on college roommates coping with the disappearance of one of their friends.
