Barely a day after Twitter announced the roll out of its new native mobile video feature, technocrat Prime Minister Narendra Modi became one among the first few people in India to try the experience.
On Wednesday, the Prime Minister shared glimpses of his speech at an event at the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in a slickly-edited video on Twitter. The video, which was based on his earlier campaign theme ‘unity in diversity’, was re-tweeted more than 700 times and ‘favourited’ more than 1,500 times.

Modi is the most-followed politician on Twitter in India with more than 90 lakh followers and is second only to US President Barack Obama among world leaders.
Twitter’s native video feature roll out was announced by the company on Tuesday and is seen in close consonance with the aim of competing with social media giants like Facebook and Instagram which are aggressively fighting for video advertising. The new feature allows users to shoot, edit and share 30-second videos right from the Twitter app itself on their mobile phones.
According to Twitter, Modi also became the first global leader to have a fully audio-video enabled account. On Tuesday, after his much-publicised radio interaction ‘Mann ki baat’ with Obama was broadcast on all networks, Modi sent out his first audio tweet which contained the full audio version of the radio discussion. To this minute, the tweet has got more than 4,000 ‘favourites’ and more than 2,500 retweets.
During his tour to Australia, Modi had surprised many by posting a selfie with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott using the Twitter Mirror tool.
