Online design platform Canva comes to India, aims for 1 mn users by 2016

Canva, an online graphic design platform, has officially launched in India. The company plans to reach 1 million users in India.

Canva, an online graphic design platform, has officially launched in India. The company plans to reach 1 million users by 2016 in India and says that India is the 4th largest market for Canva.

According to Canva, they see daily 2,000+ user sign-ups in India. The company plans to invest in marketing, brand partnerships and business development in India. Currently Canva says they have 150,000 users in India.

“We are incredibly excited to be launching Canva in India. It’s already one of our top five markets, and we see great potential for it to become an even bigger market for us. We’ll also be launching our Canva Experts partnerships in India and working with local firms to help Indian users get the most out of the platform,” said Melanie Perkins, CEO and Founder, Canva in a press statement.

Canva is based in Sydney, Australia. The company says that their platform is used to make more than 1 million designs each week. The design platform is valued at $165 million.
