Instagram has been frequently adding features to its Android and iOS apps. Now, the Meta-owned platform is rolling out a bunch of new features including an AI-powered tool that lets users create stickers from photos and videos.

The new custom sticker generator can be accessed by tapping the ‘Create’ button that appears in the sticker search entry box, which appears next to Poll, Quiz and Add Yours.

According to a blog post, the custom AI sticker generator makes use of Meta’s Segment Anything AI model and can help users create stickers using videos and photos from their camera roll or eligible media on the platform.

Similar to how the functionality works in iMessage, users will be able to separate any object from an image with a single click. If you want to tweak the sticker a bit or if the AI does not offer the expected result, the new option also lets users select the subject manually.

Once done, you can tap the ‘Use Sticker’ button to add the generated sticker to your Reel or Story. The new AI sticker generator is significantly different from the existing AI sticker option, which can generate a sticker from simple text-based prompts.

Apart from the new sticker generator, Instagram is also working on new ‘undo’ and ‘redo’ buttons for Reels and new tools will soon let you scale, crop and rotate individual clips. The platform is also making it easier to find some existing features like Voiceover, adding 10 new English text-to-speech voices along with 6 new text fonts and styles.

Instagram is also introducing a revamped Drafts interface, allowing users to quickly preview their drafts, rename and schedule them. As for posts, the Meta-owned social media introduced 25 new photo filters that range from “subtle color edits to options for expressive styles”.
