After demonetization India’s citizens are constantly hunting for ATMs close by, and now Google plans to help out in a big way. In a bid to help out its users in these difficult time where cash has become a scarcity, Google India’s homepage now carries a ‘Find an ATM near you’ link. The link is available on both desktops and mobile versions of the website.
Clicking on the link opens Google Maps on your browser with a list of ATMs marked in your surrounding areas. But considering the high demand and serpentine queues at all ATMs, they keep running out of cash. However, Google cannot help you find out if the ATM is presently dispensing cash or not, which is a drawback.
There are some other tools that people can use to find ATMs which are dispensing money. Various websites like ATM Search and Cash No Cash claim to offer help in this regard. All a user needs to do on these websites is to insert their area Pin Code and see the list of ATMs nearby.
ATM Search gives you details about the ATM and the bank it belongs to, the landmark, if there is cash or not, and the last time the details were updated. In case an ATM has a crowd, it also mentions how many people are waiting in line. Cash no Cash in a similar way shows a ‘Cash/No Cash/Wait’ tag next to each ATM near your location.
