At Google I/O in May, the company showed users the next level of Android which for now is only known as Android M. So far Google has not revealed what the M will stand for, but given the company’s history of naming its OS after a dessert, the tradition is unlikely to break this year either.
On August 14, Android’s official Twitter handle put out this teaser of a tweet saying that when it came to Android M’s name, everyone can keep guessing.
Check out the tweet below
The tweet links to a video posted by Google Employees Nat and Lo who also have the same question as everyone else: What will M stand for?

And while the Google video indicates names like Moon-pie, Milkshake, etc, some fans in India might be wondering whether it’s time to go with an Indian name, you know because Google has an Indian as CEO now. Interestingly the video even mentions Mango Lassi, but of course that doesn’t mean Google will go with such a name.
For now, we don’t know what name Google has chosen for Android M and the suspense continues.
The Android M roll-out should begin with the launch of the new Nexus smartphone one of which will be made by LG and another by Huawei, according to reports.
