Amazon today announced that it is India’s most visited e-commerce website based on the comScore numbers for October 2015.
A statement put out by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos on the Amazon India website reads, “Just two and a half years from our launch, Amazon.in has become the most visited e-commerce site in India. This customer response continues to amaze and energize us. To celebrate and thank customers for their confidence in us, we are happy to announce an Amazon.in gift card of Rs. 200 for all customers who shop on Amazon.in today.”
According to the comScore chart put out by Amazon, it has close to 30 million visitors in India by October 2015, just ahead of Flipkart and well ahead of Jabong (which is above the 20 million mark) and Snapdeal which is above the 15 million mark.
To thank its customers, Amazon is offering a gift card worth Rs 200 for its customers who shop on Amazon.co.in today for Rs 500 or more. The gift card offer is only valid till 11.59 pm today, December 14 and it will be credited to a user’s Amazon account by January 20, 2016. The gift card will be valid for a year since the date of issue and each user gets a gift card only on the first order placed.
In his letter, Jeff Bezos writes that Amazon will continue to grow its investments in India.
