Yunicorn, which is a new flagship device from Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma’s YU Televentures, will launch on May 19. The company has sent out press invites confirming the same.
Earlier YU promoter Rahul Sharma put out a post on YU’s forum stating that the company is working on a new flagship device that will ‘break all other flagships.’
Rahul Sharma’s post read, “Hope all’s well ! It’s been a while since we connected, due to obvious personal reasons :) –> Its good to be back and re-connecting with YU. Post the YUTOPIA launch, we have been working at a different clock speed and momentum to break all that’s conventional and boring.”
According to Sharma, the phone is “insanely beautiful and it will break some hearts.” The post also had a new video, which doesn’t reveal much about the device.
Yu’s last flagship was the Yutopia smartphone that launched at a price of Rs 24,999. While the phone had a great design and a 2K display along with a 21 megapixel camera and 4GB RAM, it was marred by poor software integration.
We’ll have to wait and see whether YU Yunicorn will indeed ‘break’ other flagships.
