Xiaomi has started the rollout of the MIUI 10 update for Redmi 6 Pro in India, as spotted by TelecomTalk. This update is based on Android 8.1 Oreo, and will be available as an over-the-air (OTA) upgrade. Redmi 6 Pro was launched in India alongside Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 in September.
The latest version of MIUI is available for Redmi 6 Pro with build number MI805DISI. With MIUI 10, users will get new navigation gestures, an updated Recents menu, screen recording modes as well as a modified App Vault. This also offers custom apps like MIUI Calendar, Hidden Apps, and Icon bar, among others. Redmi 6 Pro users will also find the Android November 2018 security patch, as well as bug fixes and other updates. Users can check for the updates through Settings>System updates>Check for updates, and would need a Wi-Fi connection to install the same.
Redmi 6 Pro was the first Xiaomi phone launched in India with a notched display. Featuring a 5.84-inch HD+ LCD display, it has an aspect ratio of 19:9. Powered by the Snapdragon 625 processor, it is based on MIUI over and above Android 8.1 Oreo, and has a 4000mAh battery. Redmi 6 Pro comes with 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB of internal storage as well as expandable memory up to 256GB. The biometric security options on the phone include AI Face Unlock, as well as a rear mounted fingerprint sensor.
