In the demo, BlackBerry CEO John Chen shows the slide-out Qwerty keyboard and talks about the keyboard’s widely acclaimed biometric sense touch which also doubles up as a trackpad. Notably it takes John Chen longer than usual to start Chrome browser which he plays down by calling the device a demo unit.

While John Chen tries to emphasise that people did like BB10 OS, he noted that the lack of apps did hurt the prospects of the operating system.

The company says it will share more details of the device in the coming weeks and the device is expected to hit the store shelves later this year.
