Samsung has announced price cut on its 2016 flagship Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones in India. The smartphones, first showcased at Mobile World Congress in February, were launched in India at Rs 48,900 and Rs 56,900 respectively. Samsung is offering a minimum discount of Rs 5,000 each on Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.
The price cut makes Galaxy S7 and S7 edge effectively available at Rs 43,900 and Rs 50,900 respectively. The revised price is for the 32GB version of both the devices. Samsung Galaxy S7 Black Onyx variant is available at Rs 43,400 while the Galaxy S7 Silver Titanium colour option is priced at Rs 43,900. Samsung Galaxy S7 Gold Platinum variant, however, is available at the launch price of Rs 48,900.
All variants of Samsung Galaxy S7 edge are available at Rs 50,900. Samsung Galaxy S7 features a 5.2-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display while the Galaxy S7 edge comes with a slightly larger 5.5-inch Quad HD dual edge curved Super AMOLED display. Both the devices have been rated to offer second highest brightness among smartphone displays.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are powered by company’s very own Exynos 8890 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB base storage. The smartphones feature a 12MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and a 5MP front camera. Samsung Galaxy S7 is backed by a 3,000mAh battery while the S7 edge gets a significantly larger 3,600mAh battery.
