Samsung has officially revealed the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone in New York. The Galaxy Note 7 is a spiritual successor to Galaxy S7 edge and not Note 5. The smartphone marries everything good from Note 5 and S7 edge into a completely new package.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is dubbed as the ‘most intelligent’ smartphone. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 features a 5.7-inch Quad HD display like last year’s Galaxy Note 5 and uses S Pen more intelligently. The new Galaxy Note 7’s S Pen now supports three new function – glance, zoom and translate. Samsung is also upgrading the base memory from 32GB to 64GB (Apple, please note). The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset in the US and Exynos chipset in all other markets.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 also gets the excellent camera found on Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. The smartphone gets the 12MP dual pixel rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The smartphone’s single new innovative addition is the Iris Scanner. Like Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 can be unlocked with iris recognition and Samsung calls it safer than fingerprint scanner.
