Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime have been launched in India. The smartphones are the latest additions to the company’s mid-budget J series. The Galaxy J7 Prime is priced at Rs 18,790 and is already available for purchase. The Galaxy J5 Prime costs Rs 14,790 and will hit the shelves by September end. Samsung is offering 10GB worth of Vodafone data at 1GB price.
The Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime pack features like the S Bike mode and ultra data saving (seen on all Galaxy J series smartphones). Samsung has introduced two new features called S Power Planning and S Secure with the new devices. The S Power feature helps on saving smartphones battery when it’s really low. It has three options – reserve battery for calls, extended battery time and forward calls when no battery. The S Secure mode has a secure folder, lock and hide apps option and a secure WiFi option.
Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime has a smaller 5-inch HD display, while the Galaxy J7 Prime gets a larger 5.5-inch full HD screen. Both phones feature a 2.5D curved glass design.
The Galaxy J5 Prime is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card). The smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with 5MP front camera. It is backed by a 2,400 mAh battery and will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Camera features of the phone include – Wide Selfie, Palm Selfie and Beauty Face Feature.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime runs on 1.6GHz octa-core processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM (expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card). The J7 Prime has a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera with LED flash. It is backed by 3,300 mAh battery. Both smartphones come with fingerprint scanners. Both phones have support for dual SIM.
