Oppo is expected to introduce its updated UI, ColorOS 6 on November 22, reports GizmoChina. The report cites a Weibo post by Chris Chen Xi, who has stated that the new UI would be unveiled on November 22. The date coincides with the fifth anniversary of ColorOS.
The Chinese smartphone maker has recently shared many posts regarding the 5th anniversary of ColorOS, though this is the first mention of the new UI. The post by Xi comes with an image of the phone, that is likely to offer a new home page layout.
It also shows the blueprint of possible ColorOS updates within a full screen phone, suggesting that Oppo Find X will be among the first phones to receive the update. One can also expect Android 9 Pie to be enabled onto Oppo devices withe ColorOS 6.
Meanwhile, Oppo is set to launch its R series phones outside China, as the Oppo R17 Pro is expected to launch in India soon. Featuring a 6.4-inch AMOLED display, it comes with a waterdrop notch, a screen resolution of 2340×1080 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
It could feature a ‘3D fog glass’ back, while the Oppo R17 could have a plastic body. The phone is expected to run the Snapdragon 710 processor, be based on ColorOS5.2 over and above Android 8.1 Oreo, as well as a 3700mAh battery.
Oppo R17 Pro features three rear cameras which could be horizontally stacked. While the 12MP primary camera comes with variable aperture (f/1.5 to f/2.4), the back will also feature a 20MP camera, while the third camera is expected to have a 3D depth sensor. This phone also comes with a 25MP front camera. In China, the phone is priced at 4300 yuan (Rs 44,200 approx.).
