Moto G4 and G4 Plus, the two new smartphones from Lenovo’s Moto brand are officially launched in India. Moto G4 Plus will be available starting midnight while G4 will only be available next month. Moto India had announced that both the smartphones will be Amazon India exclusive.
Moto G4 Plus comes in two storage options — 2GB RAM + 16GB and 3GB RAM + 32GB — priced at Rs 13,499 and Rs 14,999 respectively. The Moto phones are set to compete against likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, LeEco Le 1s, Meizu m3 note as well as the ZUK Z1 from Lenovo.
According to Motorola India head Amit Boni, India is the second biggest market for the Moto G series after Brazil.
Speaking about the new fingerprint scanner, Motorola’s Director of Product Management, Allison Yi told IndianExpress.com that this is the best company could add to its G series. She highlighted how it has been optimised for quick response.
Motorola is betting on the new camera and near stock Android UI as the USP of the device.
Moto G4 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Moto G4 is now thin at 7.9 mm with rounded edges, and a more squared look. It has a 5MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus.
Moto G4 is powered by Snapdragon 617 1.5 GHz octa-core processor, coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). It comes with Turbo charging and a 3,000 mAh battery. Moto is promising six hours of battery life with just 15 minutes of charging. Moto G4 Plus has the same processor and battery.
However, the Plus version of the smartphone has a fingerprint scanner on the front and a 16MP rear camera with 1.3 um pixel size and f/2.0. Moto G4 Plus’ camera also comes with a Pro-Mode as well.
Moto G4 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow on top of Moto Pure. Moto G4 is a 4G-enabled, dual-SIM smartphone that supports 4G VOLTE and 3G.
