Lumia 950 is the new flagships Windows 10 smartphone from Microsoft, along with the Lumia 950 XL phablet. Here’s a quick look at how the Lumia 950 stacks up against the competition like Nexus 5X, iPhone 6s and Samsung Galaxy S6.

Screen: Lumia 950 comes with a larger 5.2-inch display with WQHD OLED panels, Gorilla Glass 3. Microsoft says the display come with additional features like orientation sensor, Sunlight readability enhancements. The S6 has a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED QHD display, while the iPhone 6s has the smallest 4.7-inch screen. Nexus 5X has a 5.2-inch LCD screen with 1080 p resolution.
Processor, Storage Lumia 950 runs the Snapdragon hexa-core 808 processor with 3GB RAM and will only come in 32GB storage space options. It can support an additional 200 GB via microSD.
The iPhone 6s comes in 16, 64 and 128 GB options, with no extra storage support options. It runs the A9 chip and has 2GB RAM.
The Nexus 5X will come 16 and 32GB options but no microSD support either. It runs the Snapdragon 808 as well but has 2GB RAM. The S6 comes in 32 and 64GB options with Exynos 64-bit octa-core processor and 3GB RAM.
Battery, Camera: In the battery space, the Lumia is well ahead with a 3000 mAh battery. The iPhone 6s has the lowest battery size at 1715 mAh while the Nexus 5X has a 2700 mAh battery and S6 has a 2550 mAh battery.
Google says that it will tackle the battery issues aggressively in the Nexus 5X with features like Doze, etc. Traditionally Lumia phones have been known for a strong battery life.
In terms of camera and megapixels, the Lumia 950 has 20 mp, which puts it well ahead of the rest of the competition, if one were to go simply by numbers. The Galaxy S6, however has been a strong performer in the camera space as we saw in our review, and it remains to be seen how the improved cameras in the Nexus 5X and iPhone 6s turn out.
Pricing, Availability: While Lumia 950 is listed on the Microsoft India store, the price is not yet confirmed and it will cost $549 which is around Rs 35,000 in India excluding taxes.
Google Nexus 5X is expected to cost Rs 31,999 for the 16 GB version when it launches on 13 October, while the iPhone 6s will continue with its exorbitant pricing of Rs 62,000 and comes to India on 16 October. The S6 edge is currently retailing for Rs 41,900 in India.
