Microsoft has unveiled the Lumia 540 Dual SIM with the new Windows Phone 8.1 OS and will launch the smartphone in India by next month.
This is a mid-budget device and will start at $149 which comes to around Rs 9300 without including taxes, so it could cost around Rs 10,000 when it launches in India.
The new Lumia 540 Dual-SIM has a 5-inch HD display, runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz, has 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of storage space.
Microsoft is also offering Office, Outlook and up to 30 GB of free cloud storage via OneDrive for those who buy the Lumia 540 Dual-SIM.
It has an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel, wide-angle camera on the front with the Lumia Selfie app pre-loaded in it. Lumia 540 will be available in four colours: cyan, orange, white and black.
The Lumia 540 Dual-SIM appears to have the right-specs at-least on paper and it also comes with a 5-megapixel front camera which will appeal to the younger audience, or even those who might be buying their first smartphone. It remains to be seen how the smartphone will be priced at launch.
