Lenovo Z2 Plus is now official in India. Lenovo has launched its mid-range flagship Z2 Plus at a starting price of Rs 17,999. The smartphone ditches the ZUK branding seen in the China versions of the phone in favour of Lenovo branding.
Lenovo Z2 Plus features a 5-inch full HD display with 2.5D curved glass design. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Lenovo Z2 Plus will be available in India in two storage options – 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and a 4GB RAM model with 64GB internal storage. Lenovo says Z2 Plus is primarily for consumers who are technology savvy and want to be ahead of the curve with their smartphone.
Lenovo Z2 is the cheapest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 powered smartphone. Lenovo Z2 also features Adreno 530 GPU, which is 40 per cent faster than the previous generation GPU. Lenovo says Snapdragon 820 enables faster performance without utilizing much power from the device.
Lenovo is also introducing a new fitness tracking app called U Health. The app uses Qualcomm’s sensor processing unit to track steps, distance and calories. The smartphone also features a dedicated pedometer for tracking elevation or steps climbed every day.
Lenovo Z2 uses fiber glass for its frame. Lenovo says Fiberglass enables lightweight and strong build quality. It also helps in better network reception compared to metal smartphones, which also means you won’t face antennagate with Z2 Plus.
Lenovo Z2 features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture. The camera uses a larger 1.34 micron image sensor for capturing more light in dimly lit environment. There is also an 8MP selfie camera with electronic image stabilisation.
Lenovo Z2 Plus’ home button also doubles up as fingerprint scanner. Lenovo is calling the sensor as U Touch with enhancements like gesture support and quick switching between apps.
Lenovo Z2 Plus starts at Rs 17,999 for 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model is priced at Rs 19,999. The smartphones will be available via open sale exclusively on Amazon India starting from September 25.
