Lenovo’s upcoming smartphone the K6 Power will be a Flipkart exclusive device. The exclusive availability of the product will further strengthen the company’s relationship with Flipkart, said Lenovo India in a press statement. Lenovo has confirmed the K6 Power launch in India on November 29 at a special event in Delhi.
“We are the number 1 Online smartphone brand in India with 1 out of 4 shoppers choosing to buy a Lenovo or Moto smartphone, and Flipkart has partnered us well to achieve this success. We are glad to announce that we have exclusively partnered with Flipkart for the next launch in the popular K series, Lenovo K6 Power and hope to replicate our winning formula again,” said Sudhin Mathur, Executive Director, Lenovo MBG India in a press statement.
Lenovo unveiled its K6 series at IFA 2016 in Berlin back in September. The full list includes K6, K6 Note and the K6 Power, which is coming to India next week. Lenovo K6 Power follows after the Vibe K5, Vibe K5 Note, and Lenovo Vibe K4 Note smartphone, all of which were launched in 2016. The USP of the upcoming phone is the extra long battery life.
Lenovo K6 Power features a 5-inch Full HD IPS display (1920 x 1080 pixels resolution), 1.3 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC coupled with an Adreno 505 GPU. It will come in 2GB +16GB version or 3GB RAM + 32GB storage version which is expandable to 256GB via microSD.
Lenovo K6 Power has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, PDAF and the front camera is 8MP. The device is backed by a 4,000 mAh non-removable battery and it will likely compete with Xiaomi Redmi 3S, Redmi 3S Prime and the Redmi Note 3 series.
Xiaomi’s Redmi phones in India also come with a 4100 mAh battery and are priced between Rs 6,999 to Rs 8,999 for the Redmi 3S series. The phones have emerged as reliable devices with a extra long battery and at a budget pricing. Now it looks like Lenovo is all set to challenge that with the K6 Power launch in India, which could prove to be worthy competitor to the Redmi phones.
