LeEco and Coolpad announce Cool1 with dual rear camera and 4000mAh battery

LeEco, which recently acquired a controlling stake in fellow Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad, has announced first product post the acquisition. Coolpad Cool1 is the first smartphone from Coolpad to feature dual rear camera and large 4,000mAh battery.

Coolpad Cool1 Dual features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. The smartphone comes in two RAM variants – 3GB and 4GB – and default memory of 32GB. The smartphone is listed on company website in silver colour but will also be available in gold and rose gold colour variants.

Cool1 is also the first Coolpad smartphone to run LeEco’s EUI 5.6 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. With Coolpad devices, LeEco could push its content ecosystem further.

Cool1 is also the latest to enter the dual rear camera smartphone business. The smartphone comes with dual 13MP rear cameras with f/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus. The front camera is an 8MP one capable of recording 1080p videos.

Coolpad Cool1 comes with a non-removable 4000mAh battery and uses reversible USB-C port. Coolpad claims Cool1 can charge to 50 per cent in 30 minute with Quick Charge 2.0 technology. The smartphone also supports usual list of sensors like accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity and compass.

As far as connectivity is concerned, Coolpad Cool1 supports WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1 and GPS with A-GPS. The smartphone starts at 1,099 Yuan and will be available for pre-order on Coolpad’s website, LeMall and Jd.com. The smartphone is currently available for registration in China, could launch in India soon.
