After cementing its position among the top three smartphone brands in India, Intex is now shifting its focus to improve after-sales services to buyers. The company today introduced its Aqua Ace smartphone at a price of Rs 12,999 with the promise of 1-year screen breakage warranty.
“We want our customers to get more out of our smartphones. Under the new initiative, we will either replace the display or the entire smartphone if it breaks within a year of purchase,” said Sanjay Kalirona, Head Mobile Business, Intex Technologies.
The company also introduced a new 15 days service guarantee. “If any Intex smartphone takes more than 15 days to get fixed time at any of our service centre, we will replace it with a new smartphone,” said Keshav Bansal, Director of Intex Technologies.
The Aqua Ace smartphone sports a 5-inch 720p HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on both front and rear panels. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS which will be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow by end of November.
Powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT 6735 SoC with 3GB RAM and 16GB ROM, the device supports up to 128GB microSD cards. It is a dual SIM smartphone with 4G support on one slot.
On the camera front, it comes with a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 5MP front camera. The device is powered by a 2,300 mAh battery.
The company is looking forward to 100 per cent domestic assembling of smartphones soon. In addition to its four manufacturing facilities in the country- two in Jammu and Kashmir and one each in Badri and Greater Noida- the company announced a 20 lakh square feet area manufacturing facility in Greater Noida.
Intex will soon announce an affordable fitness band with display to compete with the likes of Xiaomi, Yu and others.
