Ahead of official launch HTC One X9 has leaked in all its glory. According to a Chinese publication, the smartphone is expected to release in the the first quarter of 2016. With smartphone sales declining especially the flagship ones, HTC would be relying heavily on this device for big time comeback.

In fact, a review of the smartphone is already out on another Chinese blog, hinting that the Taiwanese company may launch HTC One X9 soon. With HTC is pushing its Desire range heavily and having recently announced One A9 globally, it will be extremely interesting to see how HTC pitches this X series device.

The leaked high-resolution images of HTC One X9 suggest that the handset will feature metal frames on the sides and HTC’s trademark- UltraPixel front camera- placed on one side of it and not at the center like Desire Eye smartphone. Also, HTC has done away with on-screen buttons as this one comes with capacitive navigation buttons.

Other specs of HTC One X9 include a 5.5-inch FHD display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and 13 mp rear camera that supports 4K video recording. The handset is powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory expandable via microSD card. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery.

With HTC M series being flagship and A series getting its first start with A9, time will tell whether X series succeeds or just adds to HTC’s ever confusing range of devices.
