Honor Magic 2 has been spotted online through Weibo. The Chinese smartphone firm has posted new images of the same through its account, which includes that of the phone, as well as the retail box. Honor will announce Honor Magic 2 at an event on October 31.
The teaser images confirm that Honor Magic 2 will maintain a near full screen display, as the phone does not have a notch on top. Some of these images reveal a retractable camera module, which will house the selfie sensor. The design appears similar to that of Oppo Find X, though the modes of operation will be known at the launch.
One can spot two other lenses in the retractable module, which is expected to support 3D Face Unlock. On the back of Honor Magic 2, one can spot a triple rear camera configuration that appears in the same alignment as Huawei P20 Pro. These are expected to be the phone’s primary sensor, monochrome lens and telephoto lens respectively.
Honor Magic 2 is expected to feature a 6.4-inch FHD+ display with screen-to-body ratio of close to 100 per cent. Expected to run Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9 on top, the phone will be powered by the Kirin 980 processor. Honor Magic 2 could ship with a 3400mAh battery, that could be bundled with Huawei’s 40W fast charging support. Since the phone does not hold a fingerprint scanner, it could come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, though details remain sketchy.
Honor Magic 2 is expected to offer 8GB RAM alongside 128GB of internal storage. The phone is likely to feature rear cameras that include a 16MP primary lens, supported by 20MP and 16MP sensors.
