Freedom 251 has become synonymous with Ringing Bells, or should we say the only thing the company is know for. However, that has not prevented this Noida firm from adding new smartphones to its portfolio.

Ringing Bells GM Anmol Goel showed IndianExpress.com a couple of new devices this week, including some feature phones the company is planning to launch. While the smartphones are named Elegance and Elegant; the feature phones are called Boss, Hit, King and Raja, playing to the company’s target audiences.

Ringing Bells says it will launch the smartphones in a media event soon, though Goel did not give a confirmed date. He said Ringing Bells will start with 50,000 units of each phone. The devices will be available for booking online and through their distribution networks.

There’s also a Smart 101, Master and 4u listed on the Ringing Bells website. Goel, however, confirmed the company is upgrading the website, and will discontinue the phones listed on the site.

As for Freedom 251, the company says customers will be able to track their order number once the site is updated. “For now, we are delivering 2 lakh units of the smartphone. Delivering to other customers will depend on how fast we get help from the government to mass produce the device,” says Anmol.

However, Anmol does not promise delivery of all the 2 lakh units in the next month to complete the 7.5 crore orders. “We may deliver more units if we get help or we may not deliver at all in the upcoming months. We are only focusing on the giving away the devices now,” he says.
