CREO delivers on its promise monthly update for Mark 1, adds Selfie Flash among new features

Creo Mark 1 update brings new features like Enhance, Data Manager, Selfie Flash and an upgrade to existing features such as Sense and Echo.

CREO has released its first monthly software update for Mark 1 smartphone. CREO Mark 1 was unveiled on April 13 with FUEL OS, and the company promised a ‘New Phone Every Month’ through monthly updates.

Sai Srinivas, CEO and Co-Founder, CREO said, “As promised exactly a month back, we are glad to roll out our first update to Fuel OS – updates which utilize the amazing capabilities that Android has to offer, and will bring in entirely new experiences for our Mark 1 users.”

The update brings new features like Enhance, Data Manager, Selfie Flash and an upgrade to the existing features such as Sense and Echo. Here’s what the first update offers:

Data Manager

Data Manager will allow users to take charge of their cellular data consumption by regulating data access to apps on the smartphone. The features informs the user of how much background data is being used and provides toggles to restrict unwanted apps from consuming it. According to CREO, Data Manager can help save data charges up to 25 per cent to 30 per cent.

Enhance photo editor enables quick photo editing. Users can crop, transform, adjust images and apply various filters to pictures. Enhance also allows users to create custom presets, which can be applied directly.

Selfie Flash

Selfie Flash will allow users to click well-lit selfies using the front camera in low-light settings. As soon as the Selfie Flash mode is switched on, the phone display lights up for a split second, for taking picture.


Sense is not a new feature, but it has been upgraded to perform functions like calculations on the go, get real-time results, WhatsApp contacts directly with a double tap on the Home Button, add a phone number to contacts, and search for apps directly on the Play Store.


Echo has also been updated to several new options. These include a new Echo Mode, which directs all calls to Echo, allowing users to set different Welcome Messages for different contacts in 6 Indian languages. The Echo Mode comes with smart triggers, like automatically turning on when the phone is on silent mode or when an upcoming meeting is detected on calendar. The Welcome Messages can be recorded in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

The CREO Mark 1 is priced at Rs 19,999. The phone offers a 5.5-inch QHD display, 21 megapixel rear camera with 8 megapixel front camera. It is powered by a 1.9GHz True OctaCore MediaTek Helio X10 processor with 3GB RAM. The phone comes with 32GB storage and a 3100mAh battery. The camera offers 4K video and slow motion at 120fps in full HD.
