Apple’s iPad Pro is now officially on sale in India starting at a price of Rs 67,900. Infibeam, which is official online premium reseller for Apple, had already listed the product with the pricing on its portal last week.
The Apple India website now lists the prices of the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro, along with Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard for the iPad Pro.
The iPad Pro comes in 3 versions which are priced as: 32GB WiFi for Rs 67,900, 128 GB iPad Pro with just WiFi at Rs 79,900 and the 128GB WiFi Plus Cellular connectivity at Rs 91,900. Apple Pencil will cost Rs 8,600 in India while the Apple Smart Keyboard costs Rs 14,900.
To recap, Apple’s iPad Pro features a 12.9-inch LED-backlit Retina display (2732 x 2048 resolution at 264 ppi). The screen has a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating and is fully-laminated with anti-reflective coating. The iPad Pro also lets users run two apps in full size simultaneously.
Apple iPad Pro runs the latest 64-bit A9X chip and also has the M9 motion co-processor. It has a 1.2 mp FaceTime HD camera and and an eight megapixel rear camera with ƒ/2.4 aperture, autofocus, HDR, Panorama mode, etc supported. The iPad Pro supports Slo-Mo video and can record at 1080 p resolution.
The Apple iPad Pro also comes with Touch ID, which is Apple’s fingerprint sensor, built in the home button. In terms of connectivity, iPad Pro supports Wi‑Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac) with dual channel (2.4GHz and 5GHz), MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2 and LTE in the Cellular+WiFi version.
Apple is promising up to 10 hours of battery life on the iPad Pro.
Apple Pencil is the other big addition to the iPad Pro. It comes with a built-in Lightning connector and 15 seconds of charge gives over 30 minutes of use, according to Apple. The overall battery life of the Apple Pencil is 12 hours a day.
Apple says there is virtually no lag with its Pencil and users can draw lines of various weight depending on the amount of pressure applied and even add shading to their drawings by tilting their hands when using this stylus. Apple Pencil will work with apps like Mail, Notes, PaperbyFiftyThree, Office 365 for iPad to boost productivity on the tablet.
Apple’s Smart Keyboard is a full-sized foldable keyboard. The keyboard attaches to Apple iPad Pro’s “Smart Connector port,” so there is no need for Bluetooth pairing. Apple’s Smart Keyboard has no gaps between keys and the company says it has been “coated in a water and stain‑resistant finish,” to withstand spills. The keyboard can be used to type, used as a stand and a cover for the iPad Pro.
