Jio is back with a bumper offer. This time, the telecom giant is offering YouTube Premium for free with JioFiber and AirFiber postpaid plans. All those who have been hassled with incessant ads on the popular video streaming platform can now enjoy an ad-free, seamless experience.
Jio is offering YouTube Premium free for 24 months to users of its JioFiber and Jio AirFiber postpaid plans. With this, users will be able to enjoy YouTube videos without the constant interruptions from advertisements. Each time one clicks on a YouTube video, they are shown a 15 to 20-second ads, often non-skippable, marring the user experience.
With YouTube Premium, users can also continue to play their favourite videos in the background while multitasking or even when the screen is off. This feature is useful for smartphone users who can listen to their custom playlists or podcasts while going about their day. Besides, the premium version also allows users to download videos and watch them offline at their convenience. Most importantly, users will also be able to access the platform’s music streaming app, YouTube Music, which comes with similar benefits. The subscription can also be used across multiple platforms.

With this, Jio aims to enhance the experience of Jio’s broadband and postpaid services by offering YouTube Premium which is among the most popular entertainment subscriptions, and that too with no additional cost. This new offer caters to individuals and households that consume a significant amount of time on the video-sharing platform, either on smartphones or their smart TVs.
In August last year, the platform announced it was hiking the price of YouTube Premium in India. As of now, the monthly student plan costs Rs 89, the individual plan at Rs 149, and the family plan at Rs 299.
