Jolla, the finnish startup formed by ex-Nokia employees has started pre-orders for its much anticipated Jolla Tablet based on Sailfish OS 2.0. Jolla had started a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to raise $380,000 for manufacturing its Sailfish tablet and achieved the goal in a day. The original campaign was 480 per cent funded in December.
Jolla Tablet is available in India, Switzerland, Norway, United States, Australia, Canada and all EU countries. Shipment starts for Indiegogo contributors in early September and for pre-order customers, the device is scheduled to ship in the end of October.
The Jolla tablet will sport a 7.85-inch 2048×1536 pixels display at a density of 330ppi. Running on the gesture-based Sailfish 2.0 operating system, the tablet will run on a 1.8GHz quad-core (64-bit) Intel processor with 2GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage which will be expandable via microSD card.
The Jolla tablet is powered by a 4300mAh battery and will come in Wi-Fi only model. The tablet also sports a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. On the connectivity front, the Jolla tablet will come with Bluetooth, Micro-USB, GPS, accelerometer, light sensor and proximity sensor.
The tablet is capable of running native apps along with Android apps. The pre-order prices are €267 for 32GB variant and €299 for 64GB version. Jolla Tablet can be pre-ordered directly from the Jolla Online Shop.
